Active Harmonic Filter
Distortion of the Waveform is common in electrical components
Most electrical components (i.e. computer power supplies, adjustable speed drives, uninterruptible power supplies, etc.) draw a non-sinusoidal current even when driven by a sinusoidal voltage. This effect is called distortion of the current waveform and is measured by the current Total Harmonic Distortion (THDi%).
Voltage Distortion and Current Harmonics
Another problem caused by electrical equipment and components is the leading or lagging drawing of current starting from the voltage applied. This is called the displacement power factor (DPF).
Correct Distortion with an Active Harmonic Filter
The Enerdoor Active Filter eliminates the distortion caused by non linear loads and is capable of improving the PF by minimizing the reactive power generated by the load.
