What is an EMI Filter?

An EMI filter, or electromagnetic interference filter, is an electronic passive device used to suppress conducted interference present on a signal or power line. EMI filters are used to suppress interference generated by the device, or by other equipment, to protect a device from electromagnetic interference signals present in the environment. Most EMI filters consist of components that suppress differential and common mode interference.

To protect and optimize equipment, Enerdoor EMI/ RFI filters provide solutions in three product categories: Single-Phase, Three-Phase, and Three-Phase Plus Neutral filters.

Types of EMI Filters

Enerdoor single-phase filter series offers a current range from 1 to 100A with nominal voltage up to 690 Vac. These filters guarantee high attenuation with compact mechanical dimensions.  Available with various connections such as: IEC plugs, fastons, terminal blocks, cables, and screws. Additional DIN rail mounting provides fast and easy installation into the enclosure.  For all models, a dedicated low leakage current solution is available for medical applications.

Enerdoor three-phase filter series offers a current range from 1 to 3000A with nominal voltage up to 690 Vac. This series is one of the largest and most complete for solutions in the industrial automation industry. These filters provide high attenuation in a compact case with low leakage currents and are suitable for several industries.  

Available with terminal block, cable, screw and bus bar connections and with finger safe protection for screw and bus bar options.  DIN rail mounting provides fast and easy installation into the enclosure.  Enerdoor offers solutions in traditional TN and TNS networks and in specific applications such as IT power line configurations. Customized voltage, current, connection, and attenuation solutions are available to satisfy various application needs.

Enerdoor three-phase plus neutral filter series offers a current range from 1 to 2000A with nominal voltages up to 600 Vac. This series provides high attenuation in a compact case with low leakage current and is suitable for several industries.  Available with terminal block, cable, screw and bus bar connections and with finger safe protection for screw and bus bar options.  DIN rail mounting provides fast and easy installation into the enclosure.  Customized voltage, current, connection, and attenuation solutions are available to satisfy various application needs.

DC Filtro

The DC filter are designed and developed specifically for the PV industry.  The series FIN1220 and FIN1520 have been developed for filtering the DC lines while offering the possibility of ground connections separated from the virtual zero point, particularly useful in the case of networks critical from this point of view, avoiding the circulation on the conductor of land of high currents.

The series 1500.0V 1200.0V and provide for the arrangement shown on the first series for traditional three-phase networks. The range of the filters DC voltages up to 1500 VDC, while for the filters on the side three-phase voltage can reach up to 600 Vac networks 690 Vac standard or on request.

Protección del Motor

Enerdoor developed the Motor Protection series to protect motors from harmful overvoltage and dV/dt spikes generated on the output. This is particularly useful for applications with variable frequency drives and servo-motors. 

This series includes common mode and differential mode inductances, sine wave filters and snubbers designed to work with various frequency switches, output frequencies and applications.  

The sine wave filter series reduces the pulse wave modulation (PWM) effect, converts the PWM to a sine wave and reduces dV/dt. The FIN915SF model is used with fundamental frequencies up to 2 kHz. The high frequency inductance FIN960F is a unique solution used for synchronous spindle motor applications.

Filtro Paralelo

Our parallel EMI/RFI filters are unique solutions in the industry. Available up to 750 Vac, these filters can handle any current due to their parallel nature.

When used in conjunction with an Enerdoor filter series, this powerful combination can protect machines in the noisiest of environments.

All parallel filters provide a high level of attenuation starting from 30 kHz and provide a solution for applications where there are problems with low frequencies. 

The FIN730/740 filters reduce interference in the frequency range from 30 kHz to 10 MHz; the FIN230 filter has a resonance frequency of 150 kHz and provides a large reduction of interference in the frequency range between 50 kHz and 5 MHz. Both these attenuations are well below the requirements of 150 kHz. 

Thanks to these filter characteristics, the parallel filters may be used alone or in combination with a filter series for situations where the noise is particularly high in this frequency range.  Enerdoor parallel filters are UL approved and come with DIN rail mounting to permit easy and fast installation. The FIN230SP can provide adequate protection of inverters, controllers, and other electronic equipment.

Power Factor Correction is the use of technology to restore power factor as close to unity as possible.  This is usually achieved by the additional use of capacitors to the electrical network.  Although capacitor banks help with power factor correction, they definitely leave room for improvement.  Enerdoor understood this and developed a new technology, the FINSVG, which provides a better solution for power factor correction than the commonly used capacitor banks.

The Enerdoor FINSVG Static Var Generator benefits markets by saving money and energy by using power factor correction. Power Factor, or the ratio of real power to apparent power, has an ideal measurement of 1.  Low power factor not only creates additional costs, it also causes unnecessary stress on equipment in the facility- which leads to premature failure.  

Most loads in modern facilities are inductive loads such as motors and transformers.  An induction motor requires working power (Kw) to perform the actual work and reactive power (kVAR) to sustain the magnetic field.  Other devices with non-linear loads that affect power factor are rectifiers, fluorescent lamps, electric welding or arc furnaces.

Unlike capacitor banks, the FINSVG is immune to harmonics through active load balancing by advanced digital control. The compensation capacity never declines and the system is capable of compensating both inductive and capacitive reactive power. 

The Enerdoor FINSVG offers compensation starting at 30 KVAR with a modular design and can be either wall or rack mounted. It is available starting at 208 Vac and may be installed in either a single unit system or multiple, parallel modules for entire facilities.  The parallel concept allows for easy installation in new or existing applications.

The Enerdoor medical filter series is designed to achieve a high level of shielding on protected environments. All models are characterized by high levels of attenuation above 100 dB. For each application there are models suitable for filtering supply lines 50 and 60 Hz from single phase to three phase, with currents of up to hundreds of amps and filters for signal lines (remote controls, lines connecting sound, video, telephony, digital signals).

Models are characterized by a leakage current to ground (below 30 mA), which allows use in any environment without the need of special installation procedures. All models are built and tested conforming to all military regulations: MIL.F-15733, MIL-STD-220A and Civil UL1283.

Product range includes models suitable for various applications where required attenuations are equal to or greater than 100 dB, with different possibilities in terms of frequency band, depending on the application.

Filters for military applications: 10 KHz - 10 GHz
Filters for medical applications in a 5 MHz - 5 GHz
Filters for applications scientific and industrial laboratories, for example, measuring 100 KHz - 10 GHz

A voltage stabilizer is an electrical appliance that delivers a constant voltage to a load at its output terminals, regardless of the changes in the input or incoming supply voltage. It protects equipment or machinery against over voltage, under voltage, and other voltage surges.  They are often used for costly and precious electrical equipment to protect them from harmful high/low voltage fluctuations. This is ideal for industrial and automated machinery.

Electrical equipment is designed for a wide range of input voltage. Depending on the sensitivity, the working range of equipment is limited to a specific value, for instance, some equipment may tolerate ± 10 percent of the rated voltage, while others may tolerate only ± 5 percent or less.

Enerdoor specializes in single and three phase voltage stabilizers that regulate voltage through a series of transformers.  A static control circuit drives the variable autotransformer that supplies the required voltage to a series transformer to bring the main to the rated value. 

Three-phase stabilizers are available in two versions:
The models FINSTT and FINSTC perform voltage regulation by an average of three phases and are suitable for lines with balanced voltage and for an unbalance between phases up to 50%. These models are equipped with one stabilizing circuit to ensure a common regulation of the three-phase and may be connected to input mains without neutral.

The models FINSTTY and FINSTCY are equipped with one stabilizing circuit for each phase and are suitable for unbalanced mains with a maximum unbalance between phases up to 100%. For correct operation, the input line must be three-phase + neutral. Voltage regulators do not transform the voltage and therefore have the same output voltage as the input. When input and output voltages are different, an additional isolating transformer or auto-transformer is required.

The Enerdoor surge arrester series has been specifically designed to offer surge protection for electrical equipment. Surge arresters are installed at the front end of a system for the purpose of diverting harmful overvoltage transients caused by external (lightning) and/or internal (switching) events to ground safely. Also known as Surge Protection Device (SPD), or Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor (TVSS), Enerdoor surge arrestors protect against electrical transients resulting from lightning strikes that find their way onto electrical conductors.

All models include remote contact, visual indicator, and comply with the UL 1449, IEC 61643-11, and VDE 0675 International Standards. DIN rail or screw mounting options are available with select models offering plug and play replaceable cards for quick and easy installation and replacement.
