caRUus

This mark is a variant of the RU mark, with the additions of CA and US to indicate conformity with Canadian and United States standards

Many compliance symbols are widely recognized by consumers, as they use products with these marks in their day to day lives. The caRUus mark is one that many consumers would not be immediately familiar with, this is because the mark is used on component parts intended to be installed as part of a larger system. This mark is actually a variant of the RU mark, with the additions of CA and US to indicate conformity with Canadian and United States standards.

In the example of an industrial control panel, UL is unlike CE where if all components are CE marked the panel is not automatically CE compliant. In the same case with UL components, the panel would be considered UL compliant so long as the relevant components are marked. This is part of why the RU mark is so important, as it is typically put onto products that are incomplete in construction or that have had restrictions on their performance, but it still is considered compliant for UL.
